Freehand mm-Wave Imaging With a Compact MIMO Radar
نویسندگان
چکیده
This communication presents a freehand imaging system, which takes full advantage of compact multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar to provide the real-time results by means movements. The system is based on commercial radar-on-chip, equipped with four receivers and two transmitters, an optical tracking (i.e., motion capture system) for retrieving its position attitude. reduced size enables handheld operation, making possible create synthetic aperture moving scanner over area interest. Due new degrees freedom respect previous implementations quasi-monostatic topologies, novel calibration strategy required in order mitigate positioning errors. After calibration, simulations measurements are accomplished revealing that multistatic setup significantly outperforms monostatic terms scanning speed image quality. Multimedia material provided illustrate this performance.

Mm-wave Wideband Mimo Channel Sounding
The use of wideband 60 GHz radio propagation channel will allow high data rates in future communication systems [1]. E.g., the 57...64 GHz frequency band will allow Gbit data rates for short-range wireless access. Indeed this frequency range offers huge bandwidths and, due to the oxygen absorption, improves frequency reuse in cellular networks compared to lower frequencies. Furthermore, array s...

There are a number of potential applications for low cost short range phased array radar sensors: ship bumpers, large vehicle sensors and level crossing obstacle detection for example. Phased arrays have the benefit of reduced size and the elimination of moving parts compared with more traditional rotating antenna systems. Another potential benefit is that the image update rate can be orders of...

The millimeter wave (MMW) band of frequencies extends from 30 GHz to 300 GHz, with some fuzziness on both ends of this spectrum. The terahertz (THz) band extends from about 200 GHz to about 30 THz, despite the fact that the lower frequencies in this range are not strictly 10 Hz or higher. These bands are also variously called submillimeter, far-infrared, and near-millimeter. In recent years, th...

Through waveform diversity, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar can provide higher resolution, improved sensitivity, and increased parameter identifiability compared to more traditional phased-array radar schemes. Existing methods for target estimation, however, often fail to provide accurate MIMO angle-range-Doppler images when there are only a few data snapshots available. Sparse sign...

Enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) is one of the key use-cases for the development of the new standard 5G New Radio for the next generation of mobile wireless networks. Large-scale antenna arrays, a.k.a. Massive MIMO, the usage of carrier frequencies in the range 10-100 GHz, the so-called millimeter wave (mm-wave) band, and the network densification with the introduction of small-sized cells are ...
